Records each successful display of shipment-tracking details to a customer or authorized business user, including the shipment's latest status, delivery estimate, carrier, and exception state. It measures tracking engagement at the event, session, user, shipment, and channel levels so teams can identify repeat status checks, delivery concerns, and gaps in tracking-data freshness.

Business Use Case

The Customer Experience team reviews tracking views by shipment status, exception category, entry point, carrier, and data-freshness band. If a carrier shows high repeat-view volume and stale status data for exception shipments, the team can escalate the carrier feed issue, revise customer messaging, trigger proactive notifications, and prioritize self-service content before related support contacts increase.

1️⃣ Activate event after valid shipment identifier and customer-visible status. 2️⃣ Count all qualifying renders; exclude transport duplicates with the same event_id. 3️⃣ Client-side route change counts only if it renders a different shipment or new tracking component. 4️⃣ Use event timestamp for view reporting; store both in UTC for localized reporting. 5️⃣ Treat session as ended after 30 minutes of inactivity unless otherwise defined. 6️⃣ Exclude internal monitoring, bots, and events with false consent_analytics. 7️⃣ Resolve shipment status and dates as they appeared at render time; null dates remain null.
