The Product and Marketplace teams compare zero-result rate and search-to-inquiry conversion by city, property type, price band, and filter depth. If high-demand searches in a city repeatedly return no inventory, executives can prioritize listing acquisition in that market, while Product can revise overly restrictive defaults or improve location matching where inventory exists but search engagement remains weak.

1️⃣ Emit event only on accepted search requests; exclude page opens, edits, autocomplete, and pagination. 2️⃣ Emit separate events for explicit submissions, filter applications, sort changes, saved-search executions, and map movements; use search_trigger for distinction. 3️⃣ Deduplicate retries with event_id; maintain unique search_id for requests and results. 4️⃣ Set results_count to total eligible inventory before pagination; use zero_results_flag for successful zero-result responses only. 5️⃣ Calculate session analysis with a 30-minute inactivity timeout unless otherwise specified. 6️⃣ Exclude bots, monitoring, test traffic, malformed requests, and blocked searches from reporting. 7️⃣ Normalize values against taxonomies; sanitize free-text fields and prohibit sensitive information.
